This Red Dragon Crusader Sword is based on a surviving example of a Crusader arming sword from the early part of the 13th century now on display in the Deutsches Historisches Museum in Berlin.
—
The Oakeshott type I.1 pommel is cast in solid steel topped with a peen block and features a Crusader cross motif at the centre. The varnished wooden grip is engraved with a latticework pattern and features a brass ferrule at each end. Its high carbon EN42J Spring Steel blade has been forged and tempered to perform its historical counterpart. It has a core hardness of 45HRC approx. with an edge hardness of 50HRC approx.
—
The 2mm edges are suitable for blade on blade work (not re-eneactment safe) but are better suited to being sharpened. A well-made wood lined leather scabbard with integrated leather belt is included.
