Bowie knifes were used in the American civil war, which was fought between the nationalists of the Union and the secessionists of the Confederate States. 
These knifes were intimidating due to their size alone, featured a long blade and a knuckle guard and was used in close quarter combat and as a tool. 
The included sheath is made of stitched brown leather.
